Bonaparte's Gull in Cardiff

A Bonaparte's Gull (adult winter) was found in Cardiff Bay this morning [per GNS]. Possibly the returning bird to the area.

Was present out in the main bay, not far off the white sails at approx 2 p.m. [thanks Alex B for getting me on to it]. Looks like an AdW but it was v distant [viewed from Ice rink] and sitting on the water, although flew for a few seconds.

It now appears we have some record shots [see SWB] so maybe these will be enough for sumbission [if necessary as this is a returning bird].
