Thayer's & another gull of interest

Putative Thayer's seems to have been well received though whether it gains acceptance by BBRC without better images remains to be seen. Scores full points as thayeri using Hampton Scale. https://vimeo.com/83386422
For ref bird seen at SS40129249.
Looking good for smithsonianus but abandoned as the search for the Thayer's was more of a priority https://vimeo.com/83386819

Looks like a Smiths from this brief clip. Smooth.

Chris Gibbins agrees, but says Glauc x Herring can look very like smickers and are quiet common in Iceland? I'm happy just forgetting about this bird, but thought it might be of interest. Perhaps if someone manages a more comprehensive set of images it may go somewhere?

Im no gull expert, but can confirm the Glauc-Herring hybrids on Iceland are a bewildering plumage range. Looking at Malling-Olsens gull book still leaves me without much of a clue! Would love to catch up with the Thayers next weekend though, please make it hang around!
