I met her on a few occasions, a truly remarkable lady. Her knowledge of flora & fauna was amazing. She will be dearly missed by all in Glamorgan.

Indeed. She published a huge number of books on the Natural History of Glamorgan. Quite a number still for sale at Cosmeston.

like Jake, I had the pleasure of meeting Mary Gilham on several occasions and I think I corresponded with her in my time as Recorder. An oustanding naturalist, her passing is a great loss, though she leaves a fantastic legacy in her writings.

Sad news. I've got several of her books, which I really must get round to reading. There's a good film on Vimeo of her with Cliff Woodhead at Coed-y-Bedw reserve: http://vimeo.com/17145423
