Egyptian Goose - Ogmore 01/05/15

Few pictures of the Egyptian Goose at Ogmore - took about 60 pictures from as many angles as I could if the GRC need more. Here's a broad selection. Bird would walk away if I got closer than 30 yards while the Canada's and Mutes didn't give a ****. Tried the bread trick - but would not come to bread.

Thanks Martyn. It will be a bit of a local twitch I suppose since it counts now!

Good to hear it passed the bread test!

My list is pure!!!!!!!!!!!! But I am certain the Wood Duck at Glamorgan Canal was a far more interesting new bird for Glam than this. Whatever happened to that?

I saw two Wood Ducks at Eggy Nun once, they were ok I thought. Ring-necked Parakeet is still a no-no as is Ruddy Shelduck.
As for Gypo Goose, it is on the A List of all counties near us and it is increasing in the feral populations in Avon & Wilts. We were out of sync with our neighbours.
As for pure - No Mute Swan, Mandarin, Ruddy Duck, Pheasant, R-L Partridge & Little Owl then.

Wood Duck isn't on any category of the British List so the Eggie Nun and Glamorgan Canal birds have a mountain of of Everest proportions confronting them!
