Congrats to Mike and Jake on this outstanding find. Hopefully it will stay fairly loyal to the area for the rest of the winter. Well done also to Cliff for getting the photos. It looks a real stunner.
Great bit of spotting Messrs Powell & Gilmore. Snappy bit of camera work too from Mr Woodhead. That's brightened up a dull day for sure!
Incredible. To think if Christine Trew hadn't called me at 5:30 last night to mention the Lesser Peckers, that wouldn't have been posted, and poss no-one would have gone there! Thanks Christine!! And well done Jake & Mike.
I think the timing's are a little bit out. My first call out was at 12.10 after we had been watching it for less than 10 minutes. So it was probably only 'available' for just under an hour. We requested it originally go out as a probable as we wanted to eliminate Chestnut-eared Bunting first.....honest! Cliff has done some excellent work with those images as it was not as bright in the dull conditions at lunchtime.
great find Mike & David and to Mark for getting the news out. Dipped yesterday but a return visit this morning was very successful!!
Top find lads!
